The Alvernia Occupational Therapy Department provides occupational therapy services to the Reading Community through a Pro-bono Clinic offered on ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥'s campus. Students provide services free of charge to persons who cannot afford traditional services, have exhausted their insurance or would like help with their daily living skills which might not be readily available to them.

A licensed and professional therapist is always on site with the students to provide supervision and guidance.

Participation in the pro-bono clinic not only provides students with the opportunity to learn and work with real clients but also provides them with firsthand knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of other professionals on the client’s healthcare team. The students learn about each profession’s unique points of view and approach to care as well as learn and practice collaboration, negotiation and professionalism and with practical experience working side by side with other professionals in order to meet the needs of the people they serve.

This opportunity allows students to gain the experience and confidence in the art and practice skills that they need to become competent practitioners in the future.

If you or someone you know is in need for services, please call Dr. Judy Schrepfer at 570-574-8283 for more information.
