Biography
Ann was a 31-year public educator who retired in 2022 and joined the Total Experience Learning (TExpL) team the following week. Schmidt has been involved in the TExpL program since its inception in 2015 at the Conrad Weiser School District.
She was a 2016 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Finalist, and her library was named the 2015 Pennsylvania Outstanding School Library. Ann is a connector of passion-oriented people. She fervently believes that educators change the world, and we need to elevate & celebrate them. At TExpL Ann works in the Academic and Professional Programs department which provides the 4-course certificate program in Educational Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Ann spearheaded the creation of an Educator Sanctuary where during the coursework educators in the TExpL cohorts come to collaborate across the county with other educators from surrounding communities. The result is the breaking down of the silos between grade levels, schools and districts while sharing best practices. One of the crowning events of the program is our 3-credit course offered at the University of Oxford, England — Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Oxford.
