2020 Bernardine Legacy Award Honoree Adrean Turner

Alvernia to award Bernardine Legacy Award to leadership coach and adjunct professor

 

For her award-winning career as a speaker, author, trainer and executive leadership coach and service as a role model for women, ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥ adjunct professor Adrean Turner, MBA, MAM, PCC will receive the Alvernia Women's Council's Bernardine Legacy Award.

 

"I am honored to be recognized to inspire other women to realize that regardless of roadblocks or challenges you face in life, you can reach your goals with God, all while serving others," said Turner.

 

Turner, who has been an ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥ adjunct graduate professor for economics, entrepreneurship, marketing and leadership since 2014, is the CEO of , where she teaches organizations how to work, lead, develop talent and succeed in a diverse, virtual, global culture. Her book, "F.I.T. for Success: Fearless. Inspired. Transformed for Success," has charted on Amazon's bestseller list for work/life balance in business and has been accepted to the Library of Congress in the social sciences section. She is also a Senior Fellow with the Social Enterprise Institute USA and a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

 

"Adrean exemplifies what it means to be a Bernadine leader," said ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥ Women's Council President and Vice President for Mission and Ministry Julianne Wallace. "Her tireless commitment to leading through authenticity and helping others recognize their own inner light positively impacts all who cross her path."

 

Turner will be presented with the award at a ceremony in spring 2021. More information on this event will be released at a later date. Proceeds from the event support the efforts of the Women's Council as well as the Newcombe Scholarship Fund. The Newcombe Foundation offers scholarships to women 25 and older who have completed 60 credits required toward their undergraduate degree. ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥ is one of a limited number of colleges selected by the foundation to offer these scholarships.

 

The former Associate Director of Global Marketing Communication for Merck is the third recipient of the award. Women2Women founder Karen Marsdale earned the award in 2019 and The Honorable Linda Ludgate '77 earned the inaugural award in 2018.

 

The Alvernia Women's Council fosters the personal and professional development of ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥ women at all life stages, strengthens their connection to the university and each other and educates and inspires them to pursue and grow in leadership roles both in their chosen profession and the greater community.
