Vision
The Division of Mission, Diversity and Inclusion (MDI) is a centralized resource for the university, spearheading curricular and co-curricular experiences, professional development, programming, and assessment around the university's mission and inclusion efforts. MDI leads student access and support initiatives like Reading Collegiate Scholars, Reading Youth Initiative, Clare's Cupboard and Achieve Personal Excellence. MDI organizes spiritual engagement through retreats as well as Catholic, Ecumenical, and Interfaith services and initiatives. The division stewards engagement with the local community through service, Service Learning, Youth Homelessness System Improvement and Alvernia Lifelong Learning. MDI also drives global engagement through Study Abroad, Pilgrimage and Alternative Break experiences.
Mission
The Division of Mission, Diversity and Inclusion is the institutional hub for mission-centered inclusive excellence. Rooted in our Franciscan tradition and our core values of collegiality, peacemaking, service, contemplation, and humility, our offices support the contemplative, spiritual, service, community engagement, inclusivity, and justice work of our university community and our community partners.
